Royal Enfield has announced a commemorative End of Production Limited Edition motorcycle. This special series motorcycle is the Classic 500 Tribute Black Limited Edition. Registrations for the online sale of the Limited Edition motorcycle have already begun and the motorcycles will be made available through a limited time online sale on 10th February 2020 from 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm. Interested buyers can register through the Royal Enfield website.
The Limited Edition motorcycle will see the last of the brand’s popular 500cc, long-stroke, single-cylinder unit construction engine (UCE) motorcycles in India. The 500cc motorcycles from the Royal Enfield stable such as the Classic, Bullet and Thunderbird will be available till 31st March 2020 but sales will continue in the International markets and spares and service on the motorcycle will continue to be available for current owners across all dealerships in India.
The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Tribute Black Limited Edition will come in a Black-on-Black dual-tone theme on the fuel tank and fenders with Matt Black and Glossy Black theme. The Limited Edition motorcycle will bear the iconic pin-striped design similar to the Classic 500 that rolled out of the brand’s Thiruvottiyur facility in 2009. On top of that, the ‘Last of the 500’, the Classic 500 Tribute Black Limited Edition motorcycles will carry a hallmark commemorative ‘End of Build’ serial numbered plaque making it unique to its owner.
The Royal Enfield Classic 500 is powered by a 499cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, twin-spark, air-cooled engine with an 84 mm x 90 mm bore and stroke that produces 27.2 bhp of power @ 5250 RPM and 41.3 Nm of torque @ 4000 RPM coupled to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. The fuel delivery on the Classic 500 is through an Electronic Fuel Injection system. The engine is not being upgraded to the upcoming stringent emission norms and the 500cc motorcycles from the brand’s line-up will be discontinued for retail sale from 31st March 2020. The 500cc engine will be succeeded by Royal Enfield’s more powerful and refined 650cc twin-cylinder engine that is currently for sale on the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.
