Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Vs. Hero MotoCorp Mavrick 440 – Price & Specs Comparison

In February 2024, Hero MotoCorp launched the new Mavrick 440 motorcycle which was Hero’s iteration of the Harley-Davidson X440, but comes with a completely new design and changes in the mechanical bits. Now, Royal Enfield has launched the Guerrilla 450 which is based on the Himalayan 450 and also comes with a well-differentiated design as well as changes to its mechanicals. But, does the Hero Mavrick 440 compete with the Guerrilla 450 in the mid-spec roadster segment, let’s find out.

The Hero MotoCorp Mavrick 440 comes with a starting price tag of INR 1.99 lakh ex-showroom. And just like the Guerrilla 450 the Mavrick 440 also comes in three variants. While the Base is prices INR 1.99 lakh ex-showroom, the Mid and Top are priced at INR 2.14 lakh and 2.24 lakh ex-showroom, respectively. On the other hand, the Guerrilla 450 Analogue which its base variant comes with a starting price of INR 2.39 lakh ex-showroom, the Dash and Flash, mid-spec and top-spec variants come with a price tag of INR 2.49 lakh and 2.54 lakh ex-showroom, respectively. So how does the Guerrilla 450 justify its price tag in the middleweight roadster segment? here’s how.

The Hero Mavrick 440 comes with a 440cc single-cylinder air-oil-cooled long-stroke producing 27 Bhp of power and 36 Nm of torque. But nearly 90% of the torque delivery on the engine is achieved from the 2000 rpm range. However, with some extra bit of money i.e. around ~INR 30,000 more the Guerrila 450 offers a 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-stroke, 4-valve engine. While the displacement number may not be quite a lot. But the Royal Enfield engine produces 40.02 PS of peak power and 40 Nm of peak torque. The engine not only generates more torque but is also quite powerful in terms of horsepower delivery.

The Hero Mavrick 440 comes with a 43mm diameter telescopic front suspension with 130mm of travel. While the Guerrilla 450 matches the inner tube diameter number, the travel however, is 10mm more than the Mavrick 440 at 140mm. While Hero offers a dual setup rear suspension unit on the Mavrick 440 which also comes with a 130mm of travel, the Guerrilla 450 features a linkage-type monoshock suspension system with 150mm of travel.

Size wise the Mavrick 440 comes with 2100mm of length, 868mm of width, 175mm of ground clearance and a wheelbase of 1388mm. On the other hand, the Guerrilla 450, comes with a length of 2090mm width of 833mm 169mm of ground clearance and a wheelbase of 1440mm. The Mavrick 440 comes with a saddle height of 803mm and a kerb weight of 187 kgs, the Guerrilla 450 comes with a seat height of 780mm and a kerb weight of 185 kgs.
