Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 name confirmed, Himalayan 450-based bike

Royal Enfield could be planning to launch a new retro-roadster motorcycle soon in the Indian market. The new motorcycle is likely to be christened the Guerrilla 450, and as the name suggests it is likely to be based on the Himalayan 450 engine platform.

However, the Guerrilla 450 is likely to be placed below the Himalayan 450 and is not likely to come with premium features such as USD forks and colour TFT instruments cluster. Also, the Guerrilla 450 appears to come with 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends. Which means tubeless tyres as standard and less puncture anxiety.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla – Design

On the design front, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 gets a minimalistic design language. The bike is likely to have a rounded tank design and single scooped seat. The motorcycle also appears to have a sleek tail with the under tray integrating well with the pillion seat. Just like to Himalayan 450, the bike is also likely to come with taillamps integrated with turn indicators.

The compact Guerrilla 450 is likely to be targeted at solo riders as well as commuters who would want a powerful motorcycle. However, we think that the Guerrilla 450 could also be used for long distance touring after adding some accessories to it, as the engine is likely to be unchanged.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla – Engine

Powering the Himalayan is a 452cc liquid-cooled motor producing 40 PS of power and 40 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox and assist and slip clutch. The Guerrilla 450 is also likely to come with conventional telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla – Features

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla is likely to come with features such as LED lighting, and an instruments cluster from the Super Meteor. The motorcycle is also likely to come with Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation system.
