Royal Enfield finally adds alloy wheels to Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650

Royal Enfield brings in the all-black variants of its middleweight motorcycles. Thus, the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 are available in their all-black shades on its UK website. As part of this series, the motorcycles benefit from the black-out finish to the engine and the exhaust system. In addition to this, the Royal Enfield 650cc motorcycles also get the much-awaited alloy wheels.

What Is The All-Black Series From Royal Enfield?

The all-black variants of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 benefit from new paint themes. We see the front fork tubes and the rear-view mirrors, too, get a blacked-out finish. Now, the colour shade options for the Interceptor 650 comprise two themes. These are, namely, Barcelona Blue and Black Ray. The Continental GT 650, too, gets two paint themes – Apex Grey and Slipstream Blue. Other than this, the overall design of these 650cc motorcycles remains unaltered. And thus they look pretty much the same as their respective standard versions.

Key Features On Offer

Along with this visual overhaul, Royal Enfield has also added new features to these motorcycles. The headlight, for example, is now a LED unit instead of the halogen setup on the standard model. The switchgear, too, gets some updates as the motorcycles now come with rotary-style switches.

Further, Royal Enfield has also added a USB charger to these motorcycles. Noteworthy to mention that the cockpit remains unaltered. And thus, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 all-black variants continue to use a semi-digital instrument cluster. In terms of electronic rider aids, too, there are no changes. And thus are similar to the standard version. This means these motorcycles retain the safety net of dual-channel ABS.

Hardware Details

The most significant update for this all-black variant is the addition of alloy wheels. These wheels, similar to the standard models, are of 18-inch specifications. But, unlike the standard variants, the all-black Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 now get tubeless tyres. There are no changes to the suspension and the braking setup as well.

Engine and Performance Highlights

Talking of the engine too, there are no changes. Thus the motorcycles continue with the 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled motor. The gearbox option includes a six-speed gearbox.

 India Launch Timeline

As of now, these motorcycles are only available on the company’s UK website. However, there are changes that Royal Enfield will bring in these models for the Indian market as well. But, we do not have the official launch details.
