Royal Enfield plans to launch upto four motorcycles each year for the next few years. This strategy will strengthen the brand’s portfolio not only in the Indian market but also internationally. This year, Royal Enfield introduced the Shotgun 650, which means three more motorcycles are in order. Out of the three, two are likely to be the Classic 650 and Scram 650. The fourth could be the stripped down version of the Himalayan 450 which could be christened Scram 450.
Now, spy shots of the Classic 650 and Scram 650 have emerged on the internet. This leads us to believe that the brand could be planning to launch the motorcycle in the coming months. Surprisingly both the motorcycles were seen testing together. Is Royal Enfield planning to launch them together? While, that question remain. But we think, the brand will launch the bike in a quarterly pattern.
According to spy shots, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 is lengthened version of the Classic 350. The motorcycle appears to come with a Classic nacelle for the headlamps and an old-school instruments cluster. In addition to this, the Classic 650 also appears to get right-side up front suspension with covers a large fuel tank and double peashooter exhaust pipes. The Classic 650 is likely to share the chassis with the Super Meteor 650.
The Royal Enfield Scram 650 appears to get a minimalist design. The Scram 650 also appears to have shed a lot of weight and gets a 2 into 1 exhaust. In addition to this, the Scram 650 is likely to get features such as upside-down front forks. Furthermore, Royal Enfield is also likely to equip the Scram 650 with a rounded TFT colour screen similar to the Himalayan 450.
Both the motorcycles are likely to use the same 648cc parallel-twin air-oil-cooled engine. The engine produces 47 Bhp of power and 52 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
