Rolls Royce opens bookings for Ghost Black Badge in India

Rolls Royce has revealed the Ghost Black Badge in the country. The Black Badge Series by Rolls Royce includes the Ghost and Cullinan models. In addition to this, the company says it will accept bookings for the special-edition Ghost. However, Rolls Royce says the price is available only on request.

Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge – What’s different?

The Ghost Black Badge is based on the latest-generation Rolls Royce Ghost. However, the Ghost Black Badge gets several revisions to differentiate it from the standard Ghost. The car receives blacked-out detailing on the exterior, including the grille and Spirit of Ecstasy.

The Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge is highly customisable and is available in over 44,000 colourways. However, the signature Black colour remains the most opted for choice. The company uses 45 kg of paint to create the signature high-gloss finish.

Additionally, the car also gets new 21-inch composite wheels. The wheel barrel construction uses 44 layers of carbon fibre for greater strength. The rim is bonded to a 3D-forged aluminium hub using titanium fasteners. The signature floating hubcap with the double-R logo sits at the centre of the rim.

The car’s interiors follow the brand’s Post Opulent design philosophy. The interiors feature black wood veneer and technical fabrics. As with the exteriors, it is highly customisable with different upholstery and finishes. The options also include the ‘Shooting Star Starlight Headliner’.

Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge – Powertrain

The Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge uses the same twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 as the standard car. However, in the Black Badge, it delivers an additional 29 PS and 50 Nm of torque. The Ghost Black Badge produces a total of 600 PS and 900 Nm of torque.

The power is sent via an all-wheel-drive system that also features rear-axle steering. A ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox does transmission duties. The model also features a new ‘Low’ mode. The new mode sharpens the throttle response, and the gearshifts happen 50 per cent faster. The mode also tweaks the exhaust note to match the increase in performance.
