Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre – what is it?

The Black Badge Spectre is essentially a Black Badge model based on the standard Spectre EV. It has debuted in an exclusive matte-violet colour shade called Vapour Violet. Apart from the visual changes to it, the main update has been done in its performance.

It comes equipped with dual electric motors that generate 650 bhp and 1,075 Nm of peak power and torque output. It is 73 bhp and 175 Nm more than the standard Spectre model. Due to this setup, it can sprint from 0-96 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.

Moreover, it comes equipped with an Infinity mode, named after the iconic symbol, that allows the driver to unleash its complete power in a fraction of a second. It also gets a Spirited Mode which allows the driver to launch the car with a blast by pushing it with all the 1,075 Nm.

The exteriors of the Black Badge Spectre get an Iced Black bonnet as an option. Additionally, customers get an option to choose from a massive 44,000 Bespoke colour palette. The 23-inch wheels used on the Black Badge Spectre are forged aluminium cast.

Other crucial changes are the inclusion of a dark finish around the signature grille and the Spirit of Ecstacy, double ‘R’ badges on the doors, window garnish, and bumper accents.

Additionally, it is the first-ever Rolls-Royce electric car that has featured a Black Badge. For now, it is available in the international market but we expect it to be launched in India soon.

Our verdict

Rolls-Royce has witnessed strong demand and sales in the Indian market. The premium category of buyers is strongly interested in the standard Spectre EV. We assume the special Black Badge model will pull more buyers due to its quick performance and striking looks.
