Revolt RV300 & RV400 priced at INR 84,999 & INR 98,999 respectively

Towards the end of August 2019, Revolt Intellicorp launched the RV300 & RV400 electric motorcycles at a unique ownership plan as monthly installments. With that plan from Revolt, one could buy the RV300 starting from INR 2,999 / month while the RV400 starting from INR 3,499 / month. Now, the brand has announced interested customers can buy both of these bikes outright at a price of INR 84,999 for the RV300 & INR 98,999 for the RV400 (prices are ex-showroom).

The new outright prices include the FAME subsidy from the government, but customers have to pay over and above this amount for the registration, insurance, smart card and a one-time charge for 3-year connectivity for the bikes with 4G.

The Revolt RV400 is powered by a lithium-ion battery with 3.24 KWh battery which produces 72V of power and can deliver a maximum riding range of 150 km on a full charge. The brand claims a top speed of 85 kmph for the RV400 and the bike comes with 3 riding modes and also a fake exhaust sound which can in a way alert pedestrians. The bike comes with CBS, and not ABS although you do get front and rear disc brakes. The bike takes 4.5 hours to achieve a full charge.

The Revolt RV300 also comes with 3 riding modes and in Eco at a speed limit of 25 kmph, this electric bike can deliver 180 km of riding range. The RV300 comes with a Lithium-Ion 2.7 kWh battery with 60 V of power and can achieve a full charge in 4.2 hours. The hub motor has a 1.5 KW output and the bike weighs 101 kg.

The Revolt RV300 & RV400 motorcycles are a good attempt in bringing EV technology to the mass market. The bikes feel just like a motorcycle running on petrol, but lighter and quieter in comparison. Also, the operating costs for the Revolt bikes would be much lower in comparison. It remains to be seen how the market accepts the Revolt electric bikes, and the brand already has plans to expand their product portfolio.
