India’s next-gen mobility company, Revolt Motors, has unveiled its latest dealership in the city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu. With this 17th dealership, Revolt Motors has expanded its presence even further in Southern India as part of its expansion plan. The Government of Tamil Nadu has offered state incentives for EV OEMs which range from a variety of factors.
These include a complete reimbursement of state-paid GST on vehicle sales, exemptions from manufacturing electricity tax, and 15-20% subsidy on land cost. Tamil Nadu is also a location where there is a complete exemption on motor vehicle taxes for BEVs until 2022. It is also a fantastic location for Revolt riders as it hosts multiple hill ranges and seaside sceneries.
By recently opening stores at Vizag and Kolkata, the RattanIndia backed company will continue to expand towards Coimbatore and Vijayawada. The increased customer demand has caused Revolt to expand and strengthen its retail presence by entering 50+ new cities. The brand plans to open up its retail dealerships in Chandigarh, Lucknow, and NCR by early 2022.
The brand’s flagship RV400 sold out within minutes of going on sale due to the phenomenal response from buyers. Additionally, the company is also leveraging AI, to upscale and provide an in-house developed, contactless experience for its customers. Revolt aims to provide India-centric, cost-effective and flexible innovations in order to drive the growth of electric mobility. These steps will ensure that someday India becomes a self-reliant country.
New Revolt dealerships will allow customers to experience their EVs firsthand and act as major sales points. Customers will get the opportunity to learn about the charging point installation process and the charging aspects of the RV400. The EV manufacturer also allows prospective customers to refer to their driving patterns after the test drive.
The RV400 e-bike sports a 3kW (Mid Drive) motor along with a 3.24kWh lithium-ion battery. This combination allows the bike to produce 6.8 PS of power and 54 Nm of torque. Along with a top speed of 85 kph, the bike features Eco, Normal, and Sport riding modes for convenience. Customers can use the ‘MyRevolt’ app to access and control loads of connectivity features for the RV400.
These features include Geo-fencing, customizable sounds, complete bike diagnostics, riding data, and the distance travelled. The RV400 features 3 colour options – Rebel Red, Cosmic Black, and Mist Grey. Customers can access the Revolt Switch Station, where they can charge the RV400 from 0-75% in under 3 hours. The brand claims that customers can switch out their battery packs within 60 seconds at their nearest Revolt Switch Station.
