Renault has made official announcement that bookings for their upcoming Triber will begin from 17th August, 2019. The Renault Triber will fill the gap between the Kwid and Duster in the Indian market, and it is a 7-seater sub-4 metre car going on sale in first in our market. The Renault Triber will be launched officially on August 28th, 2019.
The Triber is a unique car in many ways. While we have seen sub-4 metre 7-seater cars already on sale, the Triber has modular abilities making a total of 100 seat combinations possible. This makes it versatile not just for passenger space, but even for carrying luggage. The Triber debut in India will be a world-first, and has been jointly developed by Renault teams in India and France. The Triber is manufactured at the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai, India and will go on sale across all 350 dealerships in the coming weeks.
The Renault Triber will be offered only with a single petrol engine option. Although a 7-seater car, there is no diesel engine on offer. So we will have to wait and watch if an oil-burner with better torque and hence, better passenger / luggage carrying capacity is considered. For now, we will get the Triber with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque matched to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT automatic.
Renault claims that all features combined, it would be the most spacious, efficient and modular car in the segment.
In terms of best-in-class features, the Renault Triber comes with SUV skid plates, roof rails with load carrying capacity, wheel cladding with flared wheel arches, high ground clearance, eagle beak split tail lamps, LED instrument cluster, 8” MediaNAV touchscreen infotainment, 2nd row slid+fold+tumble+recline function, 3rd row easy fix seat independently removable seats, 625L boot space in 5 seat layout, total interior storage up to 31L, cooled storage, cooled lower glovebox, 4 airbags along with 2nd & 3rd Row AC vents.
