Renault Sub-4 metre SUV likely to come to India Soon

According to a media report, the French brand Renault will be bringing sub-4 metre products to the Indian markets in the coming three to four years. The brand is likely to bring a sub-4 metre SUV and new electric vehicles shortly to our market. The brand recently unveiled the Triber, a 7-seater MPV in the Indian market which rivals the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the upcoming SUV will be competing against the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and the likes…

The new sub-4-metre SUV is likely to be based on the CMF-A platform which underpins the popular Kwid, but the platform will be revised and the new version will be called the CMF-A+. The SUV will get a completely new design and won’t just be an extension of the Kwid.

In the engine department, the SUV is likely to be powered by the same turbocharged 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that is offered in the Renault Triber. The SUV is unlikely to be sold in a diesel guise like other SUVs in the same segment. The engine on the Triber produces 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed EASY-R AMT gearbox.

The sub-4-metre SUV is also likely to get driver, passenger and side airbags, rear parking sensors, three-point seat belts, rear parking sensors, over speed alert, ABS and EBD, etc., as per industry standards, in terms of safety.

The SUV is speculated to follow the launch of the Duster facelift and the Kwid facelift in India. This will be a new model, so it is surely going to get features such as LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, climate control, touchscreen infotainment, steering mounted controls, alloy wheels, roof rails and other such features as per segment standards.
