Written by AnantaSaranNayak

French car manufacturer, Renault has announced that the company has added more than 129 facilities in 2020, to provide a seamless and hassle-free service experience to its customers, ahead of the launch of the much-anticipated Kiger compact SUV. The new facilities are targeted towards emerging cities in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

With this Renault now boasts a total of 500+ sales and 475+ service touchpoints in India and this large service network will indeed help Renault cater to a larger audience which might turn out be the main USP making the Kiger a success. All the new dealership facilities are in adherence to the ‘Renault Store’ concept which is aimed towards providing the best products, services and accessories to the customers in a more efficient and economical manner. Renault also confirmed that it is doing its bit to curb the spread of the virus and safeguard its customers by regularly sanitising the most used touchpoints in the showroom, periodic screening of their employees, compulsory wearing of masks and gloves and all other important COVID-19 guidelines as advised by the government of India.

Renault will try to disrupt the monopoly of the Korean siblings’ best-selling products Sonet and Venue in the compact SUV segment by launching the Kiger. This SUV will be underpinned by the same platform as of the Nissan Magnite which has proved to be a successful product in terms of the sales figures. Kiger will be powered by two engine options; a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine having 72 HP on its tap and a 1.0-litre turbocharged gasoline mill which cranks out 100 HP of power. There will be two gearbox options; 5-speed manual mated to the 72 HP motor and a CVT automatic matched to the 100 HP turbo-petrol engine. The price range is expected to be in the region to what the Nissan Magnite is being offered currently, i.e. the INR 5 lakhs to INR 10 lakhs bracket.
