Renault India has gifted several units of its popular models—Kwid, Triber, and Kiger—to the Indian Army’s 14 Corps, Northern Command. This unit, also known as the Fire and Fury Corps, is responsible for guarding the strategically crucial regions of Kargil-Leh and the Siachen Glacier.
The handover ceremony took place in Leh, Ladakh, where Renault India presented the vehicles to the Northern Command. The event was attended by senior officials from both Renault India and the Indian Army. Sudhir Malhotra, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Renault India, expressed his pride in contributing to the Indian Army. “We are deeply honoured to extend our support to the 14 Corps, Northern Command, Indian Army with the contribution of these vehicles,” he said.
The gifted vehicles are expected to significantly enhance the mobility and logistical efficiency of the Northern Command. The Kwid, Triber, and Kiger are known for their reliability, safety features, and adaptability to various terrains, making them ideal for the challenging conditions in which the Indian Army operates.
This initiative is part of Renault India’s broader commitment to community service and national support. The company has been actively involved in various CSR activities and this latest gesture underscores its dedication to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and the nation’s defense forces.
Renault India currently offers three models in its product lineup: the Kwid, Triber, and Kiger. Each of these models caters to different segments of the market, from entry-level hatchbacks to versatile MPVs and compact SUVs. The company’s decision to gift these vehicles to the Indian Army highlights its confidence in the quality and reliability of its products.
