Renault is gearing up to launch the 4×4 version of its popular Duster SUV in India during the festive season. This 4×4 version will sit on the top of the entire variant line-up.
The Duster 4×4 will be powered by the 1.5L K9K diesel engine producing 110 PS of power mated to a 6-speed gearbox which will power all four wheels of the SUV. The 4×4 system will get three modes – 2WD, 4WD high and 4WD low. In India, we will not get a petrol powered 4×4 variant, while it is sold in the overseas market.
Equipment on the car is expected to remain the same based on the variant. Expect the car to be launched at a premium of Rs. 80,000 – Rs. 1,00,000 over and above the manual variant. The Duster 4×4 will fight against the Tata Safari Storme 4×4 and Mahindra Scorpio 4×4.
Going forward, post the addition of this 4×4 variant in the Renault stable, it would be safe to assume this 4×4 tech being shared with the Nissan Terrano as well.
