Renault has made an announcement related to a price hike. The French automaker will increase prices across its range of cars, effective from January 2023. The reasons for this price hike are to partially offset the impact of constant increases in input costs. Most are largely driven by pricier commodities, fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, inflation and also due to regulatory obligations.
Renault reaffirmed that India stays a key market for the brand. They have a long-term strategy to grow the brand in the dynamic Indian market. Over the recent few years, Renault has shifted its focus to establishing a strong base in India. This includes a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, a world-class technology centre, two design centres, 500 sales and more than 500 service touchpoints.
Going forward, the company aims to continue with its product offensive strategy in India. It will work towards substantially growing the Renault brand in India. Renault also had plans to bring several new innovations in products and services for diversified Indian customers. Together with the launch of these products of global repute. Renault has a strong ‘India strategy’ with much more reliance on localization in its current and future range of products, offering customers a compelling value proposition.
Renault India currently has a total of three products in India. These are namely, Kwid, Triber, and Kiger. The company earlier used to sell the Duster as well. But given its low sales and the product’s age, Renault pulled the plug. But there are rumours that the new Renault Duster would make its Indian debut soon. Interestingly enough, it might do so with 7 seats this time. Kiger managed to revive Renault’s stake in the Indian SUV market and continues to sell in good numbers. Meanwhile, Kwid and Triber too are posting great numbers in their respective segments. Also, the company could soon bring a slew of new models in the coming years.
