Jawa’s upcoming bobber, likely to be called Perak 2.0, has been spotted undergoing testing. This is the first time we see the particular model out on test, and a few differences stand out. The test mule looks production-ready, with only camouflage stickering on the panels. Thus, the market launch might take place sooner than later.
The new Perak will continue with its bobber styling and sees minimal changes to the bike’s profile. However, it looks like the new Perak’s ergonomics will be slightly different. The updated model’s footpegs are now more front-set. Thus, offering a rider triangle offers a more neutral riding stance.
The front wheel and tyre also look bigger than the current model. Jawa seems to have made changes to the slash-cut exhaust as well. Furthermore, the rear fender now features a small luggage rack. The taillight positioning is also different and now sits on the fender. The test mule also has engine crash guards. These could be a part of the standard equipment or an optional extra.
The spy shots do not clearly show the headlight. However, it is likely that Jawa will update it to an LED unit. Apart from that and all the changes we can see in the spy shots, Jawa could also make changes to the instrument console.
It is likely that Jawa will make no changes to the engine. Thus, it will retain its 334cc single-cylinder motor and the 6-speed gearbox. In its current form, the engine produces 30 BHP of peak power and 32.74 Nm of peak torque.
Currently, the Jawa Perak retails for INR 2.08 lakh ex-showroom. However, with all the changes in the new model, it will likely get a price bump. When launched, the refreshed Jawa Perak will go up against the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Benelli Imperiale and more.
