Recall! Maruti Suzuki sold S-Presso & Eeco with faulty steering tie rod

Maruti Suzuki India has issued a recall for the S-Pressor and Eeco. Over 87,599 units of these aforementioned vehicles have been affected. The issue pertains to the steering system.

Maruti S-Presso and Eeco recall : More Details

According to the carmaker, there could be a defect in the steering tie rod of the affected vehicles. This could lead to improper vehicle steerability and handling. The recall is for cars manufactured from 5 July 2021 to 15 February 2023. In rare cases, the affected part could break.

To this end, both Maruti and its authorized workshops will inform the owners of the affected vehicles to come in for an inspection. If a replacement is deemed necessary, it will be done free of cost.

Maruti recalls in 2023

This is the fourth recall of the carmaker in this year. In January, there was a recall for 17,362 units of the Alto K10, S Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno and Grand Vitara for an airbag controller. In some cases, it would have led to non deployment of the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners in case of an accident.

Just six days later, 11,177 units of the Grand Vitara SUV were recalled. This was for a rear seat bracket defect. Sister car Toyota Hyryder was also recalled.

In April, the Baleno RS was recalled for a possible defect in the vacuum pump. This can lead to more pedal effort when pressing the brakes.

Amongst all the recalls by Maruti Suzuki, this one is currently the third largest in terms of units affected. In September 2021, 1,81,754 units of the Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6, Brezza and S-Cross were recalled while in June 2020, 1,34,885 units of the Wagon R and Baleno we called in to check for a faulty fuel pump.

In other new, Nexa is now 8 years old. Over these years, there have been over 2 million customers across 480 Nexa showrooms in more than 280 cities.
