Chennai-based start-up Raptee.HV has launched its high-voltage electric motorcycle, the T 30. Priced at INR 2.39 lakh, this bike comes with performance that can compete with 250 cc to 300 cc ICE motorcycles.
The T 30 stands out as India’s first electric motorcycle compatible with car chargers, thanks to its CCS2 charging port, a feature typically reserved for electric cars. This compatibility ensures that riders can charge their bikes at any car charging station across the country, making long-distance travel more feasible and convenient.
Under the hood, the T 30 boasts a 5.4 kWh battery pack, which is IP67-rated for water and dust resistance. The motorcycle offers an IDC estimated range of around 200 km, with a real-world range of over 150 km on a single charge. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in under 3.5 seconds, placing it in the same league as some of the more powerful petrol motorcycles.
One of the standout features of the T 30 is its rapid charging capability. Using a 3.3 kW charger, the battery can be juiced up from 20% to 80% in just 60 minutes. With a fast charger, this time is cut down to a mere 30 minutes. Raptee.HV is also offering an 8-year or 80,000 km warranty on the battery pack, underscoring their confidence in the product’s durability and performance.
The T 30 is not just about performance; it also scores high on design and features. It rides on 17-inch rims with a 110-section tyre at the front and a 150-section tyre at the rear. The suspension setup includes 37 mm USD forks at the front and a telescopic shock absorber at the rear, ensuring a smooth ride. Braking duties are handled by a 320 mm rotor at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear.
The motorcycle comes equipped with advanced software features, including three riding modes and a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster. It also offers connected features for an enhanced riding experience. Available in four colors—Horizon Red, Arctic White, Mercury Grey, and Eclipse Black—the T 30 is designed to appeal to a wide range of riders.
Deliveries of the T 30 are set to begin in Chennai and Bangalore from January 2025, with plans to expand to other cities based on market demand. Raptee.HV is also opening its first experience center, the Tech Store, at its headquarters in Chennai, offering customers an immersive experience, including factory tours to see how the motorcycles are built.
