Ather Energy has commenced deliveries on the quickest electric scooter in the Indian market the Ather 450X. In its first phase, the Ather 450X will be delivered to customers in Bengaluru and Chennai. The Ather 450X is also available to order in Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kochi, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Delhi, and in other cities. As per Ather’s planned timeline, the deliveries Kochi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Pune are slated for November 2020, Delhi and Mumbai in December 2020, and Coimbatore along with other cities will start receiving the electric scooter in the first quarter of 2021.
Powering the Ather 450X is a 6 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that generates 26 Nm of torque and is capable of accelerating the e-scooter from a standstill to 40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds. The Ather 450X is offered with a lithium-ion battery pack with 2.9 kWh of power and is capable of returning a riding range of 116 km on the (Indian Drive Cycle) the true range, however, is around 85 km in city conditions. The Ather 450X is also capable of fast charging at the rate of 1.5 km per minute and is able to charge its battery from 0-50% State of Charge. On a Home Charger, the Ather 450x can be recharged in 3 hours 35 minutes from 0 to 80% SOC, and 0-100% (Home Charging) is achieved in 5 hours 45 minutes.
The brand also announced earlier that it will be partnering with premium companies across key markets to set up Ather experience centers and begin test rides on the electric scooter. The brand also plans to set-up Ather Grid, a fast-charging network across each city. The brand plans to install 10-15 fast charging points across each city. Ather Energy currently has 37 fast-charging stations in Bengaluru and 13 in Chennai.
The Ather 450X super scooter is priced at INR 99,000 ex-showroom, Bangalore along with a monthly subscription of INR 1,699 for the Plus and INR 1,999 for the Pro model. It is available in three color options Mint, Grey, and White. The brand has also introduced an Assured Buyback Program for the Ather 450 Plus and Ather 450X under which the brand assures a buyback amount of INR 70,000 for the Ather 450 Plus and INR 85,000 for the Ather 450X.
