QJ Motor SRG600 revealed in China, could this be the next Benelli 600RR?

QJ Motor, Zhejiang Qianjiang’s premium motorcycle arm has revealed the QJ SRG600 in the Chinese market. Italian motorcycle brand Benelli is one of the subsidiaries of the Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle Group Co. and the fully-faired QJ Motor SRG600 is also speculated to be rebadged as the new Benelli 600RR in the international market.

The QJ SRG600 is based on the 2020 Benelli TNT600 and shares its underpinnings and the powertrain. The SRG600 is therefore reported to be powered by a 600cc in-line four-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that produces 80 Hp of power and 55 Nm of torque on the TNT 600, matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is likely to be tuned differently to match the supersport characteristics. To be sold under the Benelli 600RR, in the international market the brand will have to make it Euro5/BS6 compliant as well.

For cycle parts, the TNT 600’s trellis chassis and suspension setup is quite evident. The SRG600 comes with upside-down fork setup on the front, an offset monoshock on the rear, a dual disc setup on the front and a single disc on the rear, typical of a supersport motorcycle.

In terms of styling, the QJ SRG600 features an aerodynamic nose with twin split headlamps with LED headlamps, ram air style air intakes on the front fascia, bubble-style windscreen, angular side fairings, body-mounted mirrors, clip-on handlebars, a chiselled fuel tank, step-up seats and a high tail section.

The SRG600 is also likely to feature a full-colour TFT LCD instruments console, backlit illuminated switchgear, keyless ignition Brembo brake callipers with Bosch 9.1MB ABS system as revealed by leaked pictures of Type-Approval documents. As of now, there is no confirmation if and when the brand will bring the Benelli 600RR/600 SRG in the Indian market, and the brand is expected to  upgrade its current line-up in the Indian market to BS6 standards.
