We had reported that QJ Motor would be launching their bikes this month. Now, it has been confirmed, and the company is launching four new bikes in India. One of them is the SRC 500 motorcycle. QJ Motor has partnered with Adishwar Auto Ride India for the sales and distribution network. Moto Vault dealerships – a one-of-a-kind multi-brand superbike franchise will exclusively sell the bikes. The bikes will be brought in via the CKD route.
Based on the Benelli Imperiale 400, the SRC 500 gets a bigger engine and few cosmetic changes. In terms of design, the bike gets a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, black painted engine and transmission casing, 9-spoke black alloy wheels and a single-sided chrome exhaust pipe on the right.
The seat doesn’t get any backrest, but there is a grip on the sides to hold on to. It is finished in chrome. The bike gets round headlamps with minimal instrument cluster.
The bike measures 2,710 mm long, 820 mm wide, and 1120 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 1,440 mm and a minimum ground clearance of 155 mm. The fuel tank capacity is 15.5 litres, while the weight of the bike is 205 kg. The seat height is set at 800 mm.
The bike rides on a 100/90-section 19-inch wheel in the front and a fatter 130/80-section 18-inch rim at the back. It gets dual-channel ABS.
The SRC 500 gets a 480cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It has two valves per cylinder and gets a SOHC design. It produces 25.5 HP @ 5,750 rpm and a peak torque of 36Nm @ 4,250 rpm. It has a 5-speed gearbox.
The company still needs to release timelines for the customer deliveries or booking schedules. Pricing information has yet to be made available.
