Good news for the Porsche fan in India. The company has brought in three new models across the 718, 911, and Taycan range in India. As a part of this, the 718 range is now available with the Cayman and Boxster Style Editions. Prices start from INR 1.44 crore and 1.48 crore, respectively for the aforementioned series. For the 911 series, one can now get the new Carrera T trim. This variant will come with a price tag of INR 1.81 crore. The Taycan range too follows the above and gets a new model in the form of the GTS trim. This will retail with prices starting from INR 1.95 crore.
All prices mentioned are in the ex-showroom. In this news article, we will briefly talk about the new Taycan GTS
The new Taycan GTS perfectly slots between the entry-level Taycan 4S and the higher Turbo variants. Compared to the 79.2kWh battery on the Taycan 4S, the Taycan GTS uses a larger 93.4kWh battery pack. This is similar to the higher Turbo variants. The Taycan GTS produces 590 HP of power. With that power, the car can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.7sec. The top speed is limited to 250 kmph. As per Porsche, Taycan is capable of a claimed 504km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge. The Taycan GTS also features an overboost function that brings output to 590 HP in short bursts.
The Taycan includes DC fast-charging capability. This allows the GTS to charge from 5 per cent to 80 per cent in just 23 minutes. With 50-kW DC charging, it can charge 5 per cent to 80 per cent in an acceptable 90 minutes. Noteworthy to mention, using 9.6-kW-level charging, it will take 10.5 hours to go from 5 per cent up to 100 per cent charge.
As with Porsche’s other GTS models, this Taycan also gets marked out by black exterior trim elements. It also gets Race-Tex interior upholstery, along with a recalibrated adaptive air suspension for a distinctive dynamic character. Customers will get an optional rear-wheel steering system and a panoramic sunroof with ‘Variable Light Control’. This feature changes the glass from clear to opaque just at the press of a button.
