Porsche has introduced a new base model on the Taycan 100% electric vehicle. The new base model on the Taycan looks similar to the Taycan 4S, Taycan Turbo and the Taycan Turbo S. The new base model of the Porsche Taycan is powered by two battery options and comes with only a rear-wheel-drive option.
The Porsche Taycan features LED headlamps with 4 light signatures on each lamp, aeroducts on the front bumper, a black splitter, 19-inch aerodynamic wheels, muscular wheel arches, coupe roofline, a wraparound LED taillamp with a connected lightbar, chrome window line and rose gold exterior finish. The Taycan also features automatically extending door handles, panoramic glass sunroof, Porsche Active Aerodynamics that features a three-stage spoiler, dual-zone climate control with slat-free air outlets, multifunction steering wheel, electrically adjustable seats, 407-litres of luggage space etc.
The Porsche Taycan is powered by a 408 PS electric motor with Over-boost Power and Launch Control matched to a 79.2 kWh battery that returns a range of 431 km on the WLTP cycle and an optional 93.4 kWh Performance Battery Plus that returns a range of 484 km on a single charge. The Porsche Taycan can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h with Launch Control in a time of just 5.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 230 kmph.
The Taycan at the Porsche Experience Centre (PEC) in Hockenheimring has recently set the Guinness World Records for the longest drift with an electric vehicle. The instructor at the PEC, Dennis Retera drifted the electric vehicle for 42.171 kilometres taking 210 laps on the 200 metre-long circle. The feat took 55 minutes to complete and the average speed was 46 kmph.
The Taycan all-electric sportscar also holds the 24-hour endurance record at Nardo, where the car was run for 3,425 km. The Porsche Taycan also holds a record for a standing start to 200 km/h at Lahr as well as the best time of 7:42 minutes on the coveted Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
