Porsche India announces its sales report for the first quarter of 2021. The company registered a total sales of 154 units in that period and this averages to one car per week. In terms of growth, the company garnered a 52 per cent of jump when compared to the same period last year. As per reports, the main reason for the spike in sales is the launch of the new Panamera. The top-selling product from the German automaker’s portfolio is the Macan. The other cars in the company’s lineup include the likes of 911, 718 Boxster, and the 718 Cayman. Also, the sports car segment’s sales rose by 26 per cent.
Porsche Panamera 2021
The German luxury carmaker launched the 2021 Panamera for the Indian market at the start of this year. There are a total of 4 variants on offer, standard, GTS, Turbo S, and Turbo S E-Hybrid. To celebrate Panamera’s 10 years in the market, Porsche is offering an exclusive ‘10 Years Edition’. The base trim of Panamera starts at INR 1.45 Crore (ex-showroom) and the top-spec Turbo S E-Hybrid retails at INR 2.43 Crore.
Engine And Powertrain Options
The 2021 Porsche Panamera gets a 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo petrol motor that makes 330 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque. All the power is channelled to the rear wheels. Powering the GTS variant is a V8 bi-turbo engine that cranks out 480 PS of power and 620 Nm of torque. The Panamera Turbo S trim has 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 under its hood. This powertrain belts out 630 PS of power with a 0 to 100 kmph timing of 3.1 seconds. The claimed top speed is 315 kmph. The most powerful Panamera in the lineup is the Turbo S E-Hybrid. This trim gets a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 motor that produces 571 PS of power. But, in addition to this, Turbo S E-Hybrid also gets a 136 PS rated electric motor and hence the overall power output stands at 700 PS.
