Porsche has given the Cayenne line-up an extension by introducing the Cayenne Turbo GT. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT comes with sporty characteristics, all available chassis systems fitted as standard, performance tyres, and a specifically tuned engine and suspension. The results are outstanding track performance for an SUV Coupe. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT SUV Coupe with Lars Kern at the helm lapped the 20.832 km Nürburgring Nordschleife in just 7:38.9 minutes, setting a new record for an SUV.
Powering the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine. The engine now produces 640 PS of power and 850 Nm of torque. The engine comes with 8-speed automatic transmission. Compared to the Cayenne Turbo Coupe, the engine on the Turbo GT is tuned to produce 90 PS more power and 80 Nm more twisting force. Thus the 0-100 kmph sprint is reduced to 3.3 seconds which is 0.6 seconds faster than the Turbo Coupe. The brand also claims that the Turbo GT can reach a full 300 kmph of top speed, which is 14 kmph more than the Turbo Coupe.
The brand boasts that the Turbo GT is also 17 millimetres lower than the Turbo Coupe and features passive chassis components and active control systems. Both chassis systems have been re-engineered and optimised for handling and performance. The systems have also undergone specific calibration to guarantee perfect interaction between them. For example, the rigidity of the three-chamber air suspension is now higher by up to 15 per cent. It adapts to the Rear Axle Steering, Power Steering Plus and Porsche Active Suspension Management using performance control software.
The Cayenne Turbo GT comes with new 22-inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa performance tyres developed explicitly for the SUV. The SUV also features a Porsche Torque Vectoring system for precise turn-in behaviour and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system for anchoring the SUV. The brand has also carried performance upgrades to the engine components, including the crankshaft drive, turbocharger, direct fuel injection, induction system and intercooler.
In Addition, the Turbo GT features the Tiptronic S gearbox and the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system optimised for faster shift times. The SUV also gets a sports exhaust system as standard with central tailpipes made from lightweight and heat-resistant titanium. The brand also employs additional water cooling for the transfer case.
The Cayenne Turbo GT comes with features such as a new Arctic Grey colour theme, GT-specific front apron with striking spoiler lip, enlarged air intakes, contoured carbon roof and black wheel claddings. The SUV also gets 22-inch GT Design wheels in Neodyme, carbon side plates, GT specific spoiler and an adaptively extendable rear spoiler’s lip.
On the inside, the car gets GT-specific high-quality standard equipment and extended Alcantara features. The Turbo GT features sport seats in the front and a sport rear seat system with two standard seats. The seats also come with Neodyme or Arctic Grey upholstery with ‘turbo GT’ lettering on their headrests. The car comes with a multifunction sports steering wheel that features a yellow 12 o’clock marking. The centre comes with a next-generation Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system and matte black accents around the cabin.
