Porsche launches Cayenne GTS & GTS Coupé in India

German carmaker Porsche has launched the Cayenne GTS and GTS Coupé in India. These performance SUVs have been listed on the Indian website following their global reveal earlier this year.

Performance and Pricing

The Cayenne GTS and GTS Coupé are powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, V8 engine. The engine has been tuned to deliver more power than its predecessor, with an output of 500 PS and 660 Nm. The eight-speed automatic transmission has been tweaked to offer shorter response and shift times in Sport and Sport Plus modes.

The Cayenne GTS is priced at INR 2 crore (ex-showroom), while the Coupé GTS costs an additional INR 1.33 lakh. With no hybrid versions available in India, these new GTS models are the most powerful versions of the Cayenne on offer.

Design and Interior

The Cayenne GTS and GTS Coupé feature subtle cosmetic updates, such as slightly redesigned front and rear ends, black finished elements, and dark bronze exhaust tips. They also come with new 21-inch RS Spyder alloy wheels. The interior features a 12.6-inch driver display and a 12.3-inch centre information hub1. A 10.9-inch co-passenger display is available as an optional extra.

Suspension and AWD System

The suspension system has undergone changes, with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus now standard on the GTS models. They also get a new axle pivot bearing for the front suspension, borrowed from the GT, to improve handling and agility. The all-wheel drive system features a reworked transfer box with a ‘water cooling circuit’ also borrowed from the Turbo GT to help ‘stabilise continuous load capacity’ while driving on the racetrack.

The Cayenne GTS and GTS Coupé are set to compete with other luxury sports SUVs like the Audi RS Q8, Lamborghini Urus S, and Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe.
