Polaris has unveiled the all-new Indian Scout motorcycle in India at prices starting from Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
A true-blue American cruiser from Indian Motorcycles, the Scout has the manufacturer’s first-ever liquid-cooled engine. The Scout is powered by a 1130.7cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin, closed loop fuel injected engine pumping out 100 BHP of power and 97.7 Nm of torque @ 5,900 RPM. The bike has a split dual exhaust with crossover. 120mm telescopic forks at the front and dual 76mm shocks at the rear perform the suspension duty. Braking power comes from a 298mm rotor with 2-piston caliper at the front and a 298mm rotor with 1 piston caliper at the rear. A 130 section tyre at the front and a 150 section tyre at the back.
The cruiser has a dry weight of 244-253 kg and a 12.5 litre fuel tank capacity. The bike is 2,311mm long, 1,207mm high, 880mm wide with a wheelbase of 1,562mm and seat height of 635mm. Ground clearance of 135mm is a little less to tackle the nasty India speed-bumps.
Styling is typical of cruisers and gets a wide handlebar with low seats. It has a big radiator ahead of the engine which adds a lot of bulk to the overall bike. The V-Twin engine with chrome inserts looks good and the exhausts also get chrome treatment. The bike is primarily available in a single seat avatar. Instrument cluster includes a digital tachometer, odometer, trip meter, engine temperature and low fuel indicator.
Bookings for the Indian Scout are now open.
