Gujarat Pipavav Port authorities have tied up with NYK Auto Logistics to enhance automotive exports from this port facility.
NYK will get a sub-leased land inside the port premises for a dedicated RoRo (Roll On Roll Off) terminal. This new deal will have the capacity to handle 2.5 lakh vehicles annually and will be operational by mid-2015.
With car companies such as Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Renault having invested in manufacturing facilities in Gujarat, setting up a dedicated auto exports facility will come in handy.
NYK Auto Logistics operates 18 such auto export specific terminals around the globe including Chinda, Singapore, Thailand, etc.
