Italian premium scooter manufacturer Piaggio has introduced a new electric scooter in the international market. The Piaggio One e-scooter was unveiled via the social media platform TikTok. The brand will target the Gen-Z audience for the new electric scooter.
According to sources, the Piaggio One comes with LED headlamps, LED taillamps and LED turn indicators. The e-scooter also offers premium features such as keyless entry and digital instruments cluster. The e-scooter also comes with ample under-seat storage and a low seat for comfort. The brand has not revealed the technical specifications of the electric scooter, which are likely to come to light on 28th May 2021 at the Beijing Motor Show in China.
The company will offer the e-scooter in multiple versions, with various battery options providing a varying range. The brand is also likely to give a user-removable and portable battery on the electric scooter. But it is still unknown if the brand will offer a fast-charging system on the Piaggio One electric scooter.
The Piaggio One electric scooter will come with a twin split headlamp, a wide front apron, flat bench seat, angular body and a sharp tail. The scooter also appears to go with an eccentric swingarm, telescopic front suspension and disc brakes on both ends. The brand is also likely to launch the electric scooter in the Indian market, looking at the trend shift.
Recently, Piaggio Group signed a letter of intent revealing that the brand will set up a consortium for a swappable battery system. Piaggio, Honda, KTM and Yamaha have signed the letter of intent to form the consortium. This will allow rapid adoption of electric scooter and motorcycles due to the ease of use and standardization. The swappable battery system will also reduce the range anxiety of the customer.
