Italian automotive manufacturer, Piaggio has launched a new commercial three-wheeler, Ape’ HT in the Indian market. The Ape HT comes with a first-of-its-kind powerful 300cc engine available in both petrol and CNG fuel options. The brand has launched the Ape HT variants in both cargo and passenger segments.
The Piaggio Ape HT range features Petrol cargo – Ape Xtra HT. CNG cargo – Ape Xtra HT LDX and Ape Xtra HT LDX+. CNG passenger – Ape Auto HT DX, Ape Auto HT DXL and Ape Auto+ HT. The petrol cargo variant ‘Xtra HT’ is priced INR 2,24,942 ex-showroom, Pune. The CNG cargo variant comes with a price tag of INR 2,45,642 ex-showroom, Pune and the ‘Auto DX HT’ comes with a sticker price of INR 2,55,980 ex-showroom, Pune.
Powering the Ape HT is a 300cc water-cooled petrol engine. The brand claims that the engine is indigenously developed and delivers a High-Tech experience of Alternate fuel engines. According to Piaggio, the engine is apt for customers who need more power and torque from their CNG and Petrol products. The engine also boasts to provide a comfortable driving experience along with low noise and vibration.
The new engine also comes with a new aluminium clutch that not only claims comfortable drive but also long life of 30,000 km. The motor also comes with lower noise & vibration levels due to its smart fuel injection system. Also, the cargo range comes in three variants – 5.0 feet, 5.5 feet and 6.0 feet deck length for varied requirements.
The Piaggio Ape HT range comes with a warranty of 5-year/1.5 lakh km in the Petrol cargo and 36-months/1 lakh km in the CNG passenger and cargo variants. Piaggio is the only company offering a petrol engine in the segment. The brand is also offering a Special AMC package – Super Saver with 6 free periodic maintenance services with the Ape HT range. The brand revealed that the petrol cargo variant allows easy acquisition and cost-benefit to customers. In addition to this, in the coming months, the brand is also planning to add a Petrol variant in the passenger segment.
