Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. announces a remarkable feat amidst these challenging times. The company creates a milestone of adding 100 dealerships in just 100 days. With this, the Italian two-wheeler manufacturer wants to send a strong message about its dedication to the Indian market. This will also build confidence in the existing customers of Piaggio.
Piaggio already has an extensive presence in the country, especially in the three-wheeler segment. The company mentioned that it is now opening up electric experience centres to enhance the customer experience. Piaggio’s maximum sales come from the commercial vehicle segment. Thus, the brand is increasingly adding new products to keep itself relevant among the competition.
In the three-wheeler segment, Piaggio has the largest network in the country. But, now, Piaggio is equally focusing on the two-wheeler segment. Piaggio has a wide range of products to offer under its brands, Vespa, Aprilia and Ape. Currently, PVPL mentioned that it has 1,100 touchpoints and 725 dealerships under its network.
The brand is also increasingly expanding itself in the overseas market. PVPL manufacturing facility located at Baramati in Maharashtra has an annual capacity to produce 3,00,000 three-wheelers and 80,000 four-wheelers. The workforce of over 3,000 personnel helps the brand become self-reliant in almost every domain.
The brand announced that it registered a growth of more than 90 per cent in the two-wheeler sales in the first quarter. This is PVPL’s best growth performance in India. In addition to this, its market share also improved in the three-wheeler segment. The current situation is compelling everyone to stay at home. Thus, PVPL introduced its E-commerce platform to sell its lineup of products without having the customers visit the showrooms physically. The recent launch of Aprilia SXR 160 and Aprilia SXR 125 is helping boost the sales figure for the company.
