BYD India Private Limited, a subsidiary of the world’s leading new energy vehicle manufacturer, BYD, has delivered over 450 BYD e6 electric MPVs across India.
Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of BYD India, said that the e6 is well accepted in India by customers and witnessed great traction pan India. He also added that this growth demonstrates BYD’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and creating a zer0-emission ecosystem.

BYD India first launched the e6 in key cities in India. This includes Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad and Vijaywada. Since then, BYD India has increased its footprint with new dealers partners in Gurgaon, Indore, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kolkata and Pune. Furthermore, BYD India recently also integrated new showrooms in – Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Vijaywada and Hyderabad.
The Chinese EV maker initially launched the e6 MPV for commercial and fleet owners at INR 29.15 lakh ex-showroom. The BYD e6 is available in two variants – GL and GLX. The latter gets an AC fast charging option. Less than 2 weeks ago, BYD India also launched the eMPV for private buyers at the same price.
The BYD e6 is the first premium eMPV in India. Additionally, it is also the only electric vehicle in India to come with BYD’s Blade Battery. The total capacity of the Blade Battery is 71.7 kWh. With the large battery pack, the e6 offers a range of 520 km in the city and a combined range of 415 km on a single charge as per the WLTC cycle. Helping with the range is the fact that the e6 is capable of regenerating power from as low as 2 kmph. The battery powers the front wheels via a front axle-mounted electric motor. The motor makes 95 HP of power and 180 Nm of torque.
For peace of mind, BYD offers a vehicle warranty of 3 years / 1,25,000 km. Furthermore, BYD offers 8 years / 5,00,000 km warranty for the battery cells and 8 years / 1,50,000 km warranty on the traction motor.
