One Electric KRIDN to launch at INR 1.29 lakh, deliveries to begin from October 2020

Electric mobility solutions company, ‘One Electric’ has announced that the brand has completed the homologation process and on-road trials of their Made in India electric motorcycle, ‘KRIDN’. One Electric has also announced that the brand plans to begin deliveries from October 2020 in four cities in the initial stage. 

The brand has also commenced dealership applications and prebooking registrations for Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad with no deposits needed and are absolutely free. The KRIDN has been localised by over 80% and the company aims for complete localisation with all components under localisation by 2021. 

In terms of styling, the One Electric KRIDN features a neo-retro design theme with rounded headlamps on the front, retro-styled tank with knee recesses, digital instrumentation, squared-off battery covers, a heavy-duty chassis and mechanical components such as telescopic front fork suspension, twin coil spring hydraulic shock absorbers on the rear, hydraulic disc brakes on both the front and rear equipped with CBS and wide tyres from CEAT. 

The KRIDN is powered by a hub-mounted electric motor that produces 165 Nm of torque and helps propel the KRIDN to 60 kmph in 8 seconds. The KRIDN also boasts a top speed of 95 kmph and a claimed range of 110+ km. The company also claims that the KRIDN can be recharged in 4-5 hours. 

One Electric has announced that for Bike Taxi and Last-mile deliveries, the company is working on strategic partnerships with established players. For Taxi services and last-mile deliveries, the brand plans to launch the KRIDN-R that will come with a 2 Kw Motor and 75 kmph of top speed. The entry-level KRIDN-R is expected to be priced around the INR 1 lakh mark.

One Electric plans to launch the KRIDN at INR 1.29 lakhs ex-showroom price and is expected to come with a 2+1 year warranty. The brand has also revealed that it is in talks with many institutions and startups to offer innovative finance options to their customers to expedite mass adoption of EVs.

KRIDN in Sanskrit means ‘To Play’.
