Omega Seiki Mobility has launched the OSM Stream City three wheeler. This passenger electric three wheeler is available in two variants – Stream City ATR and Stream City 8.5. The former comes with swappable battery tech. The Stream City ATR is priced at INR 1.85 lakh, while the Stream City 8.5 will cost INR 3.01 lakh. All prices ex-showroom.
The Stream City ATR offers owners a zero emission experience. Further there is low noise and vibrations compared to conventional ICE rickshaws. The vehicle has been positioned as a people mover in the last mile logistics segment. This variant is positioned for the rural markets.
In terms of features, the rickshaw comes with a Li-ion swappable battery, manual boost gearbox and more. Omega Seiki Mobility has tied up with Sun Mobility for the swappable battery. The latters quick exchange stations will allow OSM customers to swap batteries in minutes. Users will also get an app that can be used to check battery charge, range, recharging status and find a swapping station nearby.
The rickshaw gets a 6.3 kWh battery with a claimed range of 80 km on a full charge. The motor is claimed to deliver 9.55 kW of peak power and 430 Nm of max torque.
The Stream City 8.5 is the same as the ATR, but comes with an 8.5 kWh fixed battery. This allows the 3 wheeler to have a claimed range of 117 km on a full charge. The charging time is claimed to be 4 hours.
Other features of both the rickshaws include drum brakes, 4.50 x 10 low rolling resistance tyres and smart connectivity options.
The company is aiming to sell 10,000 eRickshaws in FY24. The company already has cargo 3 wheelers on sale and with the passenger variant, the firm expects making inroads in a new segment.
