Skoda is upgrading the mid-spec Onyx and the top-of-the-line Monte Carlo in the Indian market. The brand will be giving minor touches to the exteriors of the car and the interior is likely to remain the same as before. The powertrain is also likely to remain unchanged. Also remains unchanged is the price of the Onyx as well as the Monte Carlo.
The Skoda Rapid Onyx comes with a chrome radiator grille bezel and a new silver ORVM housing. The car also features silver side moulding and a split spoiler lip. The Onyx also comes with gloss black alloy wheels. The silver treatment also extends to the roof of the new Onyx. On the inside, the car comes with a flat-bottomed steering wheel and dual-tone seating options. The Monte Carlo features a front lip spoiler, a black tailgate-mounted spoiler, gloss black ORVM housing and quartz cut projector headlamps. Sources report that the next-generation Skoda Rapid is still under evaluations. The sedan will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform and comes with an all-new design inside out. Speculations are that the new Skoda Rapid will be called Slavia and is likely to be sold alongside the current model.
