Ola’s first electric hypercharger is now functional

Prior to launching its test rides of its S1 e-scooter on November 10th, Ola Electric has launched its first Hypercharger. Using the Hypercharger, Ola Electric customers can charge their e-scooter batteries from 0-50% in just 18 minutes. Along with having a multilevel charging station layout, the brand plans to install Hyperchargers in 1 lakh locations across 400 cities.

Ola Electric also confirmed to achieve the INR 1,100 crore sales figure mark within a span of two days. This milestone figure makes Ola Electric’s e-scooters the highest valued product in the automotive and e-commerce sector history. The overwhelming response comes from customers who were responsible for the skyrocketing bookings and can make reservations via the website. The company has confirmed to reopen the bookings for its scooters before November 1st, before Diwali.

Ola S1 and S1 Pro e-scooters: Detailed Highlights

Ola Electric has priced its first electric scooters S1 at INR 99,999 and the S1 Pro INR 129,999. Thanks to revised FAME II norms, the final prices of the S1 and S1 Pro scooters will vary from state to state. The Ola S1 features a 2.9 kWh battery pack that powers a ‘Hyperdrive motor’.

This produces 11 PS of power and 58 Nm of torque, allowing the S1 to reach 60 kph in 7 seconds. Along with a top speed of 90 kph, the S1 sports a maximum range of 121 km. Via a conventional charging port, the S1 charges to 100% in 4 hours and 48 minutes. Using the brand’s ‘Hypercharger,’ the S1 receives 75 Km of range in just 18 minutes.

Ola S1 Pro

The S1 Pro features a 3.97 kWh battery that powers the motor to produce the same horsepower and torque. Sporting a range of 181 km, the S1 Pro’s battery takes 6 hours and 30 minutes to charge to 100%. The S1 Pro features three driving modes compared to the S1, which are Normal, Sports, and Hyper. In Hyper Mode, the S1 Pro can achieve 60 kph in 5 seconds and a top speed of 115 km/h.

Ola Electric Scooter Features

Both e-scooters get a smart vehicle control unit (VCU), an octa-core processor, 3GB onboard RAM, 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. Additional features on the S1 Pro include reverse park assist, hill hold system, and cruise control. Other features include proximity lock/unlock, remote boot lock/unlock, onboard navigation, geo-fencing, cellular calling, and message alerts. The scooter sports a single fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear with 36-litres of storage. They sport a combined braking system with a 220 mm disc brake out front and a 180 mm disc at the rear.
