The wait is over, as Ola Electric is finally opening its purchase window next weekend, i.e. 21st May 2022. The CEO of the company Bhavish Aggarwal announced this on social media. Ola has also confirmed that those who have reserved their bookings will get early access. Furthermore, the test ride camps will also open for five cities starting tomorrow. Ola has been a popular choice in the ever-evolving EV segment.
Everyone must have seen the recent multiple incidents of EV scooters wrapped in fire. There was one such event in Pune around Ola S1 Pro as well. Ola has acknowledged the issue, and the diagnosis is still in progress. There could be issues in the thermal and safety system of the scooter, as it is the most common reason for such incidents. Taking a precautionary step, Ola has recalled a specific batch of the Ola S1 Pro. The company mentioned that they would conduct a detailed analysis and health check for the given batch.
Riding on a 3.97 kWh battery pack, Ola S1 Pro comes with an ARAI certified range of 181 km. The performance is brisk, and riders will also appreciate the three riding modes. Charging time from 0 to 100 per cent using the standard power outlet is around 6 hours 30 minutes. The overall outlook of the scooter is what attracts the maximum crowd.
In terms of features as well, the electric scooter is pretty loaded. Key highlights features include Geo-Fencing, Cruise Control, Anti-Theft System, GPS/Wifi Connectivity, Reverse Mode, Proximity Lock, and receiving calls/texts via BlueTooth. Prices start from INR 1,29,999 (ex-showroom). However, if you happen to be from one of the states with EV incentives, you can get much better pricing. For example, adding up all the incentives and subsidies, one can get the Ola S1 Pro for as low as INR 1,10,149 in Gujarat.
