Good news for Ola Electric Scooters customers. Mr Bhavish Aggarwal tweeted that Ola has dispatched all December deliveries. Some of the units have already arrived at delivery centres; meanwhile, some are in transit. Furthermore, the company also mentioned that the RTO registration process took longer than expected. This was because of the new fully digital registration process.
Ola is all set to disrupt the electric two-wheeler market with its latest offering. The demand for electric scooters is reaching new highs and with many new automakers making their entry. Ola Electric is one of the major players in this segment with heavy investment. The main highlight of Ola is its manufacturing plant which is the world’s largest scooter plant. This speaks volumes of the brand’s dedication and commitment in this segment.
Ola is offering two variants of the S1. First is the base trim that gets a 2.9 kWh battery pack and promises a range of 121 km. This particular variant has a top speed of 90 kmph and a 0 to 60 kmph timing of 7 seconds. The performance figure reads as 11 PS of power and 58 Nm of torque. Customers wanting a higher range should opt for the S1 Pro. This variant packs a 3.97 kWh battery with a claimed riding range of 181 km. This variant can go from standstill to 60 kmph in under 5 seconds. Moreover, the top speed of this variant is also set at 115 kmph, which is 25 kmph faster than the base variant.
Since the announcement of the scooter, there has been an overwhelming response. Ola opened its initial batch of bookings on 15th July. And very soon, the scooter made history to become the most pre-booked scooter in the world. The company received a total of 1,00,000 reservations in just 24 hours which is quite a remarkable feat. Ola has also priced the scooter very competitively if we include the centre and state taxes. For the state of Gujarat, Ola S1 is available at a sticker price of INR 79,999, which is the lowest in the country.
