Ola’s S1 Air electric scooter will soon be available for registration and payment. The move was announced by Ola Electric’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal on Twitter. The same will be revealed on February 9, 2023 at 2 pm.
The teaser image has the caption, Change, it’s in the Air. This is likely to refer to the S1 Air electric scooter. Pre bookings for this scooter had begun back in October 2022. The introductory price was set at INR 79,999 for bookings made until 24 October 2021. After this the price would be revised to INR 84,999.
The S1 Air looks very similar to the Ola S1 and S1 Pro. However, while the scooter’s body is the same, this variant gets conventional suspension at the front and back. The front gets telescopic fork suspension while the rear gets shock absorbers. Gone are the disc brakes, and the S1 Air gets drum brakes on both ends. The bike also gets a revised one-piece grab handle.
Like the more expensive siblings, the S1 Air gets a 7-inch touchscreen for driver information. It is based on Ola’s MoveOS 3 Operating system. Also present on the bikes are three riding modes – Eco, Normal and Sports.

The S1 Air is powered by a hub motor with a peak rating of 6 BHP. It is paired with a 2.5 kWh battery pack that can offer a maximum range of 100 km on the Indian Driving Cycle using the Eco mode. It takes 4.5 hours to replenish the battery from 0 per cent to full charge. The 0-60 km/h time is claimed to be 9.8 seconds, while the top speed is claimed to be 90 km/h.
In comparison, the S1 gets a 3 KWh Lithium-ion battery pack, and an ARAI-certified range of 141 km. The S1 Pro can do a top speed of 115 kmph and a 0-40 kmph sprint in just 3 seconds. The S1 Pro gets a range of 181 km on a single charge.
