To make it even more convenient for commuters, Ola has initiated a pilot for on-demand autorickshaw service in Bangalore.
Ola hasn’t shared any details yet, but an auto driver mentioned that the company has provided them with a Huawei spartphone for rickshaw booking and tracking. Also, a new bank account also has been opened for the drivers.
For each auto ride, Ola will charge a convenience fee of Rs. 10 and the auto driver will promise to run by the meter. Around 300 autorickshaws have been enrolled in this pilot project.
Unlike Ola cabs, the customer will need to enter a drop off location prior to the auto driver accepting to provide a ride.
