Ola has revealed its entry-level electric scooter. The Ola S1 X is priced at INR 89,999 for the 2 kWh variant and INR 99,999 for the larger 3 kWh option. Meanwhile, the top end Ola S1 X+ will retail at INR 1,09,999. All prices ex-showroom Bangalore. Till 21 August, Ola is offering an additional discount of INR 10,000 across these three models.
The new S1 X looks pretty similar to the S1 Air. It gets the same hub motor, steel rims and drum brakes on both wheels. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic front fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Uniquely, the front floorboard gets a flat design thanks to Ola’s new ‘Gen 2’ e-scooter platform.
Some of the features on the S1 X include an LCD touchscreen, unpainted body panels in black and connectivity features only on the S1 X+.
The new S1 X’s higher variants use a 6 kW motor with a top speed of 90 km/h. The 0-40 km/h time is claimed to be 3.3 seconds. The 3 kWh battery is good for 151 km of certified range.
Meanwhile, the 2 kWh battery version comes with a 85 km/h top speed and a slower 0-40 km/h time of 4.1 seconds. Ola says this entry level model will do 91 km on a single charge (certified range).
Bookings for all the variants of the S1 X are open. Meanwhile, when it comes to deliveries, the higher end S1 X+ will be delivered first from end September. The 2 kWh version will however make its way to customers only by December.
Recently, Ola showcased four electric motorbike concepts. These include a cruiser, adventure bike, roadster and a sportbike. It was revealed that the company is planning to launch them by the end of 2024. Each of these bikes are futuristic in design and will cater to the customers of its respective segment.
