Ola India announces India’s largest EV test drive initiative. With the launch of S1 Pro and S1 in the market, Ola is quite determined to make a strong impact in the EV segment. In recent years, the demand for electric two-wheelers has been breaking all records. And this has translated to growing sales figures as well. Almost all EV companies reported positive sales growth even in the times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Ola, which is one of the important players in the segment, has also invested heavily to leverage the demand.
To enable more customers to experience Ola’s first EV product, the company is planning to cover over 1,000 cities. Initially, the company will offer test rides to the customers who have either purchased or reserved the scooter. As of today, Ola has already started off with the test rides. The initial cities included as a part of this Ola EV test ride initiative are Bangalore, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. Furthermore, the company will open to 5 more cities starting from November 19th. This includes Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai and Pune.
Starting from November 27th, more cities will be included as a part of this initiative. This includes Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Coimbatore, Vadodara, Bhubaneswar, Tiruppur, Jaipur and Nagpur. Moving forward, the company will add more locations, and the target is to enable maximum customers with test rides by December 15th.
The company is offering two models under the S1 range, S1 and S1 Pro. Customers get a wide range of 10 colours to choose from. The design of the scooter is also quite neutral, thus attracting customers from various demographics. The claimed riding range of S1 Pro is 181 km with a top speed of 115 kmph. Meanwhile, the lower trim S1 has a claimed riding range of 121 km with a top speed of 90 kmph. Customers looking for a thrilling riding experience must opt for the S1 Pro that gets the Hyper Mode.
