Ola Electric has unveiled a comprehensive suite of new products and innovations at its annual event, Sankalp 2024, held at the Ola Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. The highlight of the event was the launch of Ola’s first electric motorcycles under the Roadster portfolio, alongside the announcement of integrating its indigenously developed Bharat 4680 cell into its vehicles starting Q1 FY26.
The newly launched Roadster portfolio includes three distinct models—Roadster X, Roadster, and Roadster Pro—each designed to cater to different segments of the motorcycle market.
Reservations for all Roadster variants have begun, with deliveries slated to start by Q4 FY25 for Roadster X and Roadster, and Q4 FY26 for the Roadster Pro.
In addition to the Roadster lineup, Ola Electric teased two upcoming motorcycles—Sportster and Arrowhead—signaling its intent to expand further into the electric motorcycle market. While details on these models remain sparse, the teasers suggest that Ola is focusing on blending performance with futuristic design.
Further bolstering its technological prowess, Ola showcased its indigenously developed Bharat 4680 cell. This advanced lithium-ion cell boasts five times more energy density (275 Wh/kg) than the widely-used 2170 cells, promising longer life, faster charging, and greater efficiency. The integration of these cells into Ola’s vehicles, beginning in Q1 FY26, is expected to give the company a significant competitive edge by reducing costs and improving vehicle performance.
Ola Electric also introduced its all-new Gen-3 platform, which will underpin its future EV offerings. This platform is designed to enhance scalability, performance, and efficiency while reducing production costs, aligning with Ola’s goal of making electric mobility more accessible to the masses.
The event also saw the debut of MoveOS 5, the latest iteration of Ola’s operating software. Building on the success of MoveOS 4, this update will introduce a suite of new features aimed at enhancing the overall riding experience. These include Group Navigation, Live Location Sharing, Road Trip Mode, Smart Charging, and advanced AI-powered features like voice assistant and predictive insights. The beta version of MoveOS 5 will be available via OTA update by Diwali.
