To add to its already diverse portfolio of electric products, Okinawa Autotech has launched its highly-anticipated OKHI-90 e-scooter in India. Touted as ‘The Responsible Choice’, the OKHI-90 is the perfect amalgamation of a Motorcycle and a scooter, aimed at city-dwellers. Okinawa Autotech has priced the e-scooter at INR 1,21,866, which will differ across 5 states due to subsidies. The OKHI-90 will cost INR 1,03,866 in Delhi/Maharashtra, INR 1,01,866 in Gujarat, INR 1,14,866 in Rajasthan, and INR 1,16,866 in Orissa.
By combining the looks of a motorcycle and a scooter, Okinawa has ensured to retain the OKHI-90’s spacious ergonomics. These include the wide and grippy tyres and a large comfortable seat that will make it ideal for Indian families. Its stylish, 16-inch, aluminium alloy wheels not only add to the aesthetic appeal but also enhance the overall riding experience. Along with tackling the bumpy roads of India, the overall construction of the electric two-wheeler supports ideal long-distance journeys.
The design of the LED headlight takes inspiration from Okinawa’s brand logo, which also features a light sensor. This allows the e-scooter to showcase improved visibility in dim surroundings, on-demand night riding, and riding in low-light conditions. Additionally, the OKHI-90 sports a knob-style, automatic keyless start for enhanced rider convenience, along with four unique colour options. These include Glossy Wine Red, Glossy Pearl White, Glossy Ash Grey, and Glossy Jewellery Blue.
Okinawa Autotech has equipped its latest e-scooter with a removable, 72V;50Ah, lithium-ion battery pack with fast charging technology. This provides power to the centrally-mounted 3800-watt motor that allows the e-scooter to reach speeds of up to 90 kph. Along with an acceleration time of 10 seconds from 0-90 kph, the e-scooter also sports two riding modes. In Eco mode, the OKHI-90 can hover around 55-60 kph, whereas Sports mode allows for speeds up to 85-90 kph.
Okinawa claims that the OKHI-90 can sport a riding range of 160 Km per charge whilst featuring various convenient features. This includes in-built navigation, a Digitally-Informative Speedometer, Bluetooth connectivity, Mobile charging USB-port, Luggage Box, geo-fencing, secure parking, and rider alerts. Via the Okinawa App, riders can utilise the ‘My Scooter’ to track their scooter in case of emergencies. The App also allows for instant immobilisation of the e-scooter during the event of theft for enhanced rider safety.
