Okinawa has launched a new slow speed electric scooter called the LITE in the Indian market priced at INR 59,990. The Okinawa LITE is possibly targeted towards college going youth and those who need a simple mobility solution for daily chores and are in no hurry. Okinawa was the first company to receive FAME II approval for their electric range of two-wheelers, and this new product adds to their already extensive e-scooter portfolio. Okinawa currently retails the Ridge, praise, Ridge+, iPraise+ and PraisePro models in India.
Okinawa will offer the LITE in white and blue body colour options. Okinawa is offering a detachable lithium-ion battery on the LITE scooter. The LITE comes with a 3 year motor and battery warranty along with a unique anti-theft battery lock which ensures that your battery pack is safe.
The Okinawa LITE comes with a 250 Watt BLDC waterproof motor which offers 50-60 km of riding range per full charge. The scooter has a 25 kmph top speed and has a climbing ability of 7-degree gradient. Okinawa is offering a front disc brake and rear drum brake on the LITE and the scooter has a loading capacity of 150 kg. The 1.25 KWH lithium-ion battery has a 48V output and the scooter also has EABS with regenerative braking. The brand claims that this scooter battery can be fully charged in 4-5 hours. The LITE has a ground clearance of 160mm and has a 17L under seat storage.
Features of the Okinawa LITE include LED DRL, LED projector headlamp, LED tail lamp, LED turn indicators, defogger lights, alloy wheels, hard floor mat, alloy levers, push button start, auto handle lock, auto motor lock, digital speedometer, hazard light, mobile charging point, remote opening for seat, hooter, scooter power switch, etc. Styling of the Okinawa LITE is quite good, and unique in the market. If the scooter can generate enough buzz, and is present in front of potential buyers, sales would be noteworthy.
Okinawa will be offering RSA for the LITE scooter for customer convenience.
