Years after the split, Hero MotoCorp is all set to make an entry in the two-wheeler segment with non-Honda engines. In 2015, Hero MotoCorp will launch 2 new scooters and 2 new motorcycles, all powered by non-Honda engines.
- Hero Dash: A 110cc scooter first showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo will be launched first. The new 110cc engine developed by Hero MotoCorp is expected to be the most fuel efficient and also most powerful in the segment.
- New 150cc motorcycle: After the Dash, Hero will launch a new 150cc motorcycle. This is not a variant of the current Xtreme on sale. The all-new motorcycle will be much with the times in the performance and looks department to fight against the Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ V2 etc.
- Hero Dare: The third launch would be the Hero Dare scooter which was also showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. Powered by a new in-house 125cc motor, the Dare will be placed in the premium scooter market.
- New 110cc motorcycle: A new commuter motorcycle with a 110cc engine will be launched as well. This will not replace the current Splendor line-up, but will continue to sell alongside other bread-and-butter models.
The Hero Zir, a 150cc motorcycle showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year will come only in 2016. The HX250R also seems to be delayed with launch plans being pushed behind to almost the second half of 2015.
