The Nissan Magnite is set to receive its first significant update in the form of a facelift. The latest spy shots hint at cosmetic tweaks to the exterior. The focus appears to be primarily on updating plastic components rather than sheet metal.
Exterior Updates
The updates include a new grille, reshaped bumpers, tweaked headlights, and LED lighting signatures. Changes to the taillamps are also expected, and the car will likely ride on a different set of alloy wheels2.
Interior Updates
Inside, things are expected to remain similar to the elements of the current Magnite. However, Nissan might introduce new trim options and potentially offer a few additional features to keep the car in competition with its rivals. But the overall dashboard and seating layout will likely stay the same. Reports suggest that it will get a redesigned dashboard and offer additional features such as a single-pane sunroof and 6 airbags.
Powertrain Options
The facelifted Nissan Magnite will continue to offer a choice between two existing 1.0-litre petrol engines. This includes a naturally aspirated unit making 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, and a turbocharged version producing 99 bhp and 160 Nm (152Nm in the CVT) of torque. Both engines come mated to options such as a five-speed manual, AMT, and CVT.
The Nissan Magnite facelift was spotted testing in Chennai for the first time. The heavily camouflaged crossover was seen in Chennai again. The launch is expected in 2025. The crossover will get some updates and continue to be exported in a left-hand drive version. The Magnite has been the only product in the Nissan India portfolio for over two years now. Nissan India plans to launch refreshed and new products by next year. We could soon get the Juke, Qashqai and the Leaf EV.
