Nissan recalls Magnite SUV for door handle issue

Nissan Motor India has announced a voluntary recall of their popular sub-compact SUV, the Magnite. The recall targets a specific issue with the front door handle sensor, affecting the units within the XE and XL trims of the model.

Affected Units & Issue

According to the manufacturer, the recall includes Magnite units manufactured between November 2020 and December 2023. The units rolled out of the production line in 2024 won’t be affected. The carmaker has assured that the fault does not pose a safety risk to passengers and won’t affect the car’s drivability.

While details regarding the exact nature of the sensor malfunction haven’t been disclosed, Nissan has confirmed they will be contacting affected customers directly in April to schedule replacements. The company plans to retrofit new front door handle sensors on the affected vehicles.

The Recall Process

Owners of the affected Magnite units are advised to wait for a communication from the company and get the issue fixed free of charge at the company’s official service network across the country.
