Nissan X-Trail in India will get 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo-petrol hybrid engine

In a couple of days from now Nissan plans to unveil the new X-Trail SUV in the Indian market. The fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail which has been in the international market since 2021, is now coming to India. The Nissan X-Trail SUV is likely to come to the Indian market via the CBU (Completely Built-up) route and could be priced around the INR 40-45 lakh mark. But, what engine and features will the Nissan X-Trail bring with it to India? let’s find out.

Nissan X-Trail – Engine Options

Speculation is that the brand will be offering the X-Trail with a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol motor with a 12V Mild Hybrid system. The engine produces 163 Hp of power and 300 Nm of torque matched to a shift-by-wire CVT automatic gearbox. In the international market, the brand also retails the X-Trail with the e-Power motor that powers a battery and electric motors drive the wheels using power from the on-board battery. However, this powertrain options is not likely to come to India.

Nissan X-Trail – Size & Competition

The Nissan X-Trail for India is likely to be 4,680mm in length, 1,840mm in width, 1,725mm in height, and has a ground clearance of 210mm and a 2,705mm wheelbase. The brand in its teasers also revealed that the X-Trail for India is going to be the 7-Seater 3-row version. The SUV will compete with the Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and the Skoda Kodiaq in the Indian market.

Nissan X-Trail – Design and Features

The Nissan X-Trail features the brand’s V-Motion grille on the front and a quad eyed fascia. The Car comes with LED headlamps and tail lamps, and diamond cut alloy wheels. On the inside, the Nissan X-Trail gets dual zone climate control, a large panoramic sunroof, 8-inch driver’s display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
