Nissan launches X-Trail SUV in India at INR 49.92 Lakh

Nissan Motor India (NMIPL) has officially launched the all-new 4th Generation Nissan X-Trail in India, priced at an introductory INR 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This marks the debut of the ‘Made in Japan’ X-Trail as a completely built unit (CBU) in the Indian market. Equipped with the world’s first production engine featuring Variable Compression Technology, the X-Trail promises a blend of power and fuel efficiency.

Key Features and Innovations

The X-Trail’s Variable Compression Turbo engine represents a breakthrough in automotive engineering, offering a seamless balance of performance and economy. The SUV also includes the latest 3rd generation XTRONIC CVT with D-Step Logic Control and Paddle Shifters, providing smooth shifting and enhanced acceleration. The vehicle’s 12V ALiS (Advanced Lithium-ion battery System) mild hybrid technology further enhances fuel economy by offering features like torque assist, extended idle stop, quick restart, and reduced CO2 emissions.

The SUV features a 1.5L Petrol Variable Compression-Turbo engine paired with Nissan’s ALiS Mild Hybrid 2WD system and the 3rd Gen XTRONIC CVT powertrain. This combination delivers 163 PS and 300 Nm of torque.

Market Position and Availability

Available in three elegant colors—Champagne Silver, Pearl White, and Diamond Black—the X-TRAIL stands out as the only Japanese CBU SUV in its segment in India. It has garnered a strong global reputation, ranking among the top 5 best-selling SUVs in 2023, with over 4,50,000 units sold. The vehicle is now available in more than 150 markets worldwide, accumulating over 7.8 million units sold since its inception.

Bookings for the X-Trail began on July 26, with an advance deposit of INR 1,00,000. The SUV comes with a comprehensive 3 years/100,000 km warranty and 3 years of free roadside assistance, with the option of a post-maintenance package (PMP) for an additional 2-5 years. Deliveries are set to start in August, and pre-bookings can be made at Nissan dealerships nationwide or through their website. The X-Trial will be available in limited numbers only.
